My Heart & Approach

I’m an authentic, heart-led creative with a deep love for storytelling, human connection, and preserving life’s most meaningful moments. Photography, for me, is about so much more than images, it’s about turning fleeting seasons into memories you can hold onto, revisit, and pass down.

I’ve always been a sentimental soul, a self-confessed memory hoarder who sees immense value in documenting life as it unfolds. I believe there is something incredibly powerful in having photographs from different chapters of your life to look back on with warmth and fondness in the years to come.

Why Photography Matters to Me

My appreciation for photography deepened through both love and loss. Motherhood opened my eyes to just how quickly time passes — how fleeting the seasons are, and how deeply we want to hold onto the moments that matter most. Alongside that, experiencing the absence of someone deeply important to me revealed the true value of photographs — the comfort they bring, the memories they hold, and the way they allow stories and connections to live on.

Images have the ability to keep people present in our lives, even when they’re no longer physically here. They allow us to revisit love in all its forms — the tender, everyday moments of motherhood, and the enduring connections we carry with us through loss. That understanding sits at the very heart of my work.

I love how much can be said in a single photograph: the love people share, the soulful connections, the desire to freeze a moment in time, and the joy of revisiting memories that matter most.

The Experience I Create

Creativity has always been a constant in my life. With a background in people-focused work and education, I’ve long been drawn to empathy, growth, and meaningful connection. Photography brings all of that together — art and technology, creativity and emotion, quiet observation and deep human stories.

Hazel & Oak Photography began as a passion project and has grown into something deeply personal and purposeful. My approach is relaxed, thoughtful, and guided by connection. I want my clients to feel comfortable, seen, and truly themselves — because the most beautiful images are born from honesty, emotion, and real moments.
